Arnold now in office

Well, as most people probably figured, Arnold Schwarzenegger is the new California governor. Who knows, maybe he'll turn out good for Cali, but in my opinion, people should have voted for someone who at least had some political background. But then again, that's just my opinion too, and I dont live in California. Oh well, I cant do anything about it now can I. Any thoughts or comments?

I think political experience in this case is not going to be a problem. The best leaders are the ones who put smart people in charge who can get things done. It is important for the leader to organize and point them in the right direction, but it’s the staff that does the work. I think Arnold is smart enough to realize this and will concentrate his efforts on the PR front and let his people do the policy grunt work.

I think having someone without political background is good. Arnold may look at things from a totally different perspective(i.e. a citizens perspective) instead of a asenine politician.

Do you realize that the people behind Arnold, who Arnold picked to pull his puppet strings, are the same people who worked for Pete Wilson, who ran California into a near depression?

TRD, how can you be so sure Arnolds gonna be so bad? He hasn't even had a chance to prove himself. And I tend to think Mr. Davis hired some of those women to say that they were abused by Arnold.

Arnold is now governer. YES! I hope he can clean up the mess Gray Davis did to California. Plus I agree with Texas355F1. Gray Davis probably hired women to say that they were abused by Arnold. Besides It happened a long time ago.

If a certain former president could get away with the sexual offenses, during his political career and even during his term of office, why should what Arnold may have done 20 years ago have any bearing on his political career?

I don't live in Cali but WA state is politically close enough.

Turd Boy, all you've done is slam on Arnold. You offer no solutions, give no insights to any of the problems, not argue'd FOR your point of view, or contributed anything worthwhile to this thread.

It's just the typical liberal socialist BS; and I'm tired of it.

As far as Cali's economy goes, well, if the general population got to keep more of their money, they'd probably spend it. And consumer spending is like the big indicator of the health of the economy, right?

Well see what he does. He will either really screw up and all the people supporting him will have to shut up, or he will do a good job, and california will be better off.

I don't like Davis all that much but I dont think he f-ed up california, he was put in between a rock and a hard place and decided to sign power deals so the states people would have electricity. Perhaps we should look at the people that came up with those deals? Texas oil....

I said that today and got corrected. We could have a complete colapse of our economy, arnold could get rid of the EPA. etc. Just think about the stuff working in the state now, and remember it dosent have to stay that way.

There is a big difference between the two. This is Arnold’s first political office and it’s a big one. Reagan held other offices prior to winning a regular election for governor. I am not saying Arnold can’t be a good politician, but the comparison should stop after ‘actor’.

typical ignorant shots by calling someone you disagree w/ names...real mature. Why is it my job to solve this crisis? I've stated far more facts than you have, so what have you contributed, besides lowering the avg. IQ of the thread?
