Porsche 911 Carrera RS - Rally Monte-Carlo 1978

Good day.
I started a new project - the winner of the Monte Carlo Rally 1978 - Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3L.

For the project will use a kit from Tamiya Porsche 934 Turbo RSR.

Transkit from Reji

Transkit this is not a very good one: the wheels do not match the original, the average quality of the cast, precision parts is minimal.
Start

The preliminary phase is over.
What to do:
- Transform the front bumper.
- Transform the rear bumper.
- Transform the rapids.
- Replace the exhaust system.
- Make mirror pilot.
- Make the original discs.
- Transform wing.
- Make the second seat.
Thank you for your attention.
Sorry for bad English.

Re: Porsche 911 Carrera RS - Rally Monte-Carlo 1979

good work so far, I started this one myself from the ESCI model, a lot of work, thought to restart from the new tamiya kit but there is almost as much work...

Beware of Reji instructions for rear wing, there are false, the rear intake is very small.

Are you sure? And what about Lancia Delta HF?
In the name of the thread you wrote "Rally Monte-Carlo 1979". But in 1979 the winner was Lancia Stratos HF.
Probably you need to correct the name and the first post, because Porsche 911 Carrera won this competition in 1978.

1987... 87... 78... 1978...
just a simple inversion when tiping more than a real mistake, don't you think ?
but for title... 79... uhh... this is the mistake !!

I was staring at one at my LHS and opted on getting it. Now i regret it as there are so many awesome liveries for this porsche. Looks like you have a bunch of clean up to do on the resin bits. Looking great and good luck on it!!

Re: Porsche 911 Carrera RS - Rally Monte-Carlo 1978

Wheels were purchased from Renaissance Model - Gotti PLS 15" 911SC

The rear wheels have been modified.

I'm going to install the engine from Fujimi

Hello
you picked a nice car to reproduce ..
if you want to do it correctly you have to change the shape and curvature of the fenders ..
if you look are different
many have produced t.kit for various versions of using all the porsche 934 base ..
but each version had a "his" body ...
I follow your work
I really like the Porsche rally version..

Re: Porsche 911 Carrera RS - Rally Monte-Carlo 1978

dont forget also 911 sc are much slimmer in body (front and rear fenders) than 934 rsr based cars.
in an italian forum a very skilled modeller made same car, maybe his thread can be helpful
