Basically struts and springs will do, but if your dustboots are bad..get new ones. Some people also get new strut mounts. I'm pretty new to this myself but I hope this helps a little.

Hmmmm

So will the struts and springs effect the way the vehicle rides... and what is the purpose of putting a new dust boot on is it necessary?

Ha!!...That's pretty funny. I have a '97 straight stock with 16s that rides like a dream. I have a '96 with 1 1/2" Eibach Springs and 17s that has a ride just this side of a Corvette. I don't care though, I'm going to 18s in a few weeks. If you're going for the lowered 18 look be prepared to sacrafice at least 50% of your ride quality. Lowering springs are much stiffer than stock ones and you just don't get much cushioning from a tire that's only as thick as Mcdonalds cheesburger. But it sure does look good! And doesn't that just make it worth it somehow?

yeah the looks are much worth it i guess but ya gotta hate knowing your bout to let loose a grand for some sweet rims and then the losing the sweet feeling drive of my 15" hubs ha i dont want it extremely low like grounded or anything because i am planning to throw a stillen body kit on it eventually i just dont want it looking like a 4x4 ha

You'll have plenty of room for that. With the 1 1/2" springs I've still got about 6 1/4" ground clearance and 1 1/4" tire-to-fender clearance. Without the 1 1/2" springs I'd have big wheels with 3" between the tire and fender and 8" between the ground and car. That'd be pretty funky. You could always adjust the tire size up a little to compensate for the tire/fender gap but it doesn't do anything for the ground gap. Springs look much better though. So I'd either stick with 17s and slightly larger tires (which would look good like a factory 2000+) and save some good ride, or go all out, screw the ride, and throw on some springs with 18s and small tires. I don't have to drive my '96 all the time because I have the '97 with 16s and a good ride, so it was an easy decision for me. If I had to drive the car everyday I don't know if I would have sacraficed the ride or not. Hard to say.

Short of buying one and sitting your car on top of it I don't think it's gonna happen. The new ones have a four-wheel independent suspension like the Skyline, with seperate rear shocks and springs. Ours have struts/ multi-link suspensions. Translation: the new ones have one hell of a suspension that can handle big, wide wheels and small, thin tires; our's don't. Sucks huh?

That's a sweet ride...too rich for my blood with all those mods though. Being it was an SE to start with it probably rides about half as good as it did stock, but the look makes up for it I think. I have the Spider Milles on my '97. I'm going for the 18 Action Sport on the '96. It's charcoal gray so I thought the gunmetal look would be sharp. I tried to attach an image but I've never done it before so I don't know if it will work or not. Anyway you can see them at www.tirerack.com . I gotta run. If you ever have a question you think I may be able to answer my IM is ferricriboflavin but I'm hardly ever on there.
