Re: ecotec or twin cam?

idk this is a really close call. While his 5 spd trans is a bit quicker than the auto, you have more stock HP and TQ and a high flow cat. Only way to find out is to race.

Re: ecotec or twin cam?

Usually dont post around here but I have a question that I don't feel like researching for an hour to get my exact answer.

what's the difference between the two motor's? 2.4 and ecotec? what exactly is ecotec?

Not to bash you guy's but I really dont have an interest in knowing alot about cavalier's I personally dont like them and I haven't raced one that put up a good challenge yet but I dont wanna seem like im here just to hate but I would like to know what motor is typically better and what is ecotec? The cavalier is one car I have never researched but I would just like to know the answer to what I asked any help is appreciated.

Dont want to jack your thread either but I figure since both motor's were mentioned it wouldent be too far off topic.

Re: Re: ecotec or twin cam?

The 2.4L produces about 160hp while the 2.2L ecotec produces about 140hp. The 2.4 is a bit complex and there arent a whole lot of mod.s out there for it beyond say a supercharger, exhaust, headers, and intake. For the 2.2L, there is due out a turbo and it is much easier to work on. Any other ??

Re: ecotec or twin cam?

no, ecotecs for the most part are low 16's stock, Z24's are mid to high 15s stock, the Z24 has him all the way.

Re: ecotec or twin cam?

how in the world can somebody who drives a civic hatch back say anything negetive at all about any other car? does anyone else find that halarious? you can't get any slower and unoriginal than a civic hatch back. head back to the civic forum with the other 15 million civics. they should know all there is to know about engines!!
