Ferrari F12 Berlinetta 2012 - Rosso Fiorano

Hello again from, still, sunny Greece,
This is time for a new project. But this time, is not my choice but my wife's.
So, the progress started with the DX version of Fujimi's kit.


The inspiration came from this...

And all started with fujimi's stupid seats. I remove both of them and the petals also.


Then, I make some first dryfit. I plan to use HD's novitec rosso wheels. I think, they looks better than the standard kit wheels.


Also, I start to prepare the body for the priming. I took the scriber and engrave panel lines, and re-scribing the window and door trim. Finally, and from inside I thin the rear vents, for more realistic view.


This is from now. I know that the F12 is a common subject, but I try to found something interest in my wip. So I wait your comments...

A little update on Berlinetta. In youtube, I found a video with a flying F12.


I take screenshots and then started to cut some panels from the bottom. I plan to represent a part of the exhaust..


Also, I found this picture in the web.


You can see that the Fujimi's suspension arms belongs to sci-fi modelling category.
So, I make new ones to cover the wrongs. Also, the visible part of exhaust made from kit sprue.

More progress to floor, suspension, exhaust and body, today...

I make four shocks from evergreen and wire.
The backs:


and the fronts:


The springs are from 0.6mm wire.


Then, I put them in its place...


The exhaust muffler made from epoxy putty, and painted with alclad's.


Finally, body painted with rosso fiorano from ΖP's. Definitely needs some clear coat to prove the real color.

Basic more PE parts (front grilles, interior grilles, full brakes, some pre-painted instruments, but still no exterior grilles)...

Here the deluxe version PE's


And the PE instructions for standard's version.


I didn't notice any other difference. As, in any fujimi kit, I wait for a little time, didn't pre-order the standard version, and take with almost the same money, the DX.

I manage to make some work on my Berlinetta.
First of all a clean and paint the hobby design's wheels. I use rubber black from ZP with some drops of semi gloss black. Also, I clean the tires (Why HD... WHY ). Here's the result...


The down covers for suspension arms, which I made from plastic (see first update), transfers the wheel hubs a little up, to decrease the cars height. See the photos from a dry-fit test...


So, time for clear coat. After 2 mist and two 2 wet coats, the body sanded... In this stage also, I make some masks and put carbon in the roof final component.


Another wet coat, makes the color alive...




Polishing are follows...
