Ferrari 599xx 1/24 Super Detail Set Hobby Desing

Well I present another project that I've been working on. I love Ferrari and when I saw the truth not hesitate to buy it, when I decided to start it, I almost fainted. This kit is horrible, no wonder you can not find the information for any forum. Little by little I have been riding and although it seems he has not done anything, takes some work. We start with the box art.

I started looking for side skirts that fit the pieces and what I found are small gaps. So put plastic, behind a small guide to paste and continue.

Right rear and left the following.

Surprise, go play with this side, but with plastic and patience ....

He has also been to fill a line of kit and redo. The outputs of the bonnet came with lack of resin so more putty.

Another surprise is the roof, also fails to leave something for later.

Steps to place the wheels are not facts, so patience and measure.
Resulado this.

This photo cheers me up.

We start with the rear diffuser and flip the kit we find another surprise. It has some amazing descuadres, so more patience is the virtue of this hobby and work.

Final result.

Now only carbon-fiber lining.

Re: Ferrari 599xx 1/24 Super Detail Set Hobby Desing

This is one of the parts that I liked. Debuts buy a lathe to make a piece that manufacturers failed.

This achieves this.
Original.

Copy.

More work side skirts. The right piece sanded because it did not fit, and other support to the front.

The roof of the vehicle interior, sanding and caulking, it came very wrong.

The back has a small spoiler. In the kit are two pieces of photogravure. The truth is not easy to make.
Original.

Kit.

I'll have to fill with more putty and sanding, but I think it would fit.
For now this is all, hope you like and do not suffer nightmares as it happened to me. Although the truth with these kits is one modeller.
Greetings.
Saul.

Quite a labor of love for the 599XX. How can Hobby Design keep making such poor quality resin?

I took the easy route for the 599XX...I got the beautiful, inexpensive 1/24 scale Carrera slot car. I can spend my time on other projects now

What an amazing work, Saul.

I don't know really a lot about Hobby design kits and TK, only its photoetched and other little parts, but I have in mind the quality was better . looking at your pictures maybe I was wrong.

Anyway, this never will be a problem for you .

For sure this proyect will become a great model. Waiting for more advances

Thanks for the review. Here was me thinking the two Hobby Design resin trans kits I have were of dubious quality.

Its good to see you have got the better of this kit but its disappointing that Hobby Design keep producing substandard resin.

Think this was anyway one of the very first productions of HD. last ones I've seen(in mails) about new rims are very nice, as well as the very last complete model kits.

Cool. I also have one and noticed that this kit has a lot of inaccurate details and some parts cannot fit properly unless major surgery is given. However I do think the charm of 599XX makes this kit outstanding anyway

Looks like a lot of fun and hope you're enjoying the lathe...you'll love it!

I saw a 599GTO parked around the corner from me yesterday, but no camera. I must admit, it looks very impressive indeed. Nearly had heart failure when I saw the size of the front carbon discs! :o)

Nice work fixing all the issues with the kit, I am a little supprised at the poor quality of Hobby Desing resin, even so this is going to look very cool when you have completed it

Thank you very much to all for stopping and commenting. The truth is that I expected more from this brand, I have the Audi R8 also because it makes watching the photogravures might work better. I hope as the comments are doing better. Certainly making me put it better myself and I'm really enjoying. I hope not to put more than progress.
Greetings.
Saul.

Re: Ferrari 599xx 1/24 Super Detail Set Hobby Desing

Well bring much, but a big step. Placed the two pieces of photo-bearing small spoiler.

Parts of the diffuser painted gloss black, ready to line fiber.

Decals, decals, decals and a little work, but some have.

Now we just give it some Tamiya Smoke and varnishing. Missing grids, but to place them, not until the end of the process.

Greetings.

Saul.
