Lancia Super Delta, Hasegawa, 1/24

Hi

if the editor of an encyclopedia would only be allowed to put one photo of one car next to the article about rallyecars it should be this one: the Lancia Delta, of course with the red and blue striped livery. The Stratos may be more exotic, the Groub B cars may have more power, but the Delta is my No 1.

I built the Hasegawa kit, representing the Evoluzione type from 1992, also called Super Delta. The parts fit well, some etched parts are included. The decals were a bit yellowed so I replaced them with Studio 27 decals. Those are good, but be careful to avoid tearing; I had to use the brush to repair a few spots.
I painted using TS26 and 29 per airbrush, Zero 1k clear on top.

OOB the ride height would be a bit too much I think, so I shortened the dampers all around; maybe I should have shortened the rear ones by a mm more.

Hope you like it.

Beautifully built and finished, but too clean for a rally car...

Nice, can you lower the rear a little bit?

Looks great. I agree that it annoying Hasegawa chose to give their Delta kits a Monster Truck ride height! Good looking model all the same.

Looks great, beautifully finished and very clean. I agree with the previous poster about the ride height. It could do with being a bit lower at the rear end. The windscreen wipers are a bit heavy from the box and also the aeriel mount. Maybe some photo etch wipers would look better..??

Thx guys.
I know the rear is a bit to high - I cut off about the same amount from front and rear dampers, seems you have to cut 1-2mm more on the rear.

Re: Lancia Super Delta, Hasegawa, 1/24

seems like hasegawa's deltas want to be like brodozers with the ride height. and here i thought my ecr piancavallo delta was the only one with the high ride lol. anyway, that is one beautiful work you did there
