Re: help 05 grand prix gt

So, you went to a tranny shop...did they road test the vehicle, or did they just read a code? What was the condition of the fluid?

What kind of tranny did you replace it with? Junkyard? Rebuilt? New?

Lack of diagnosis hear, may have cost you more than it should have.....

Normal fix for this code, is a pressure control solenoid....in some cases the valve body also.....if driven too long like this, than clutches could have been worn....

If you replaced it with a junkyard tranny, since this is a common code, you may have replaced it with a tranny with the same problem....

Now for the bad news....it could have just been a wiring problem in the harness to the tranny......

Proper diagnosis, would have been for the transmission shop to road test the vehicle with a scan tool and look for slippage, especially under a load....if slippage exceeded 30-40 rpms, than the pressure control solenoid should have been commanded to 100 %....if slippage was gone, chances are you just needed a pressure control solenoid.....while in there, the valve body should have been checked.....

Re: help 05 grand prix gt

I'm not sure if they took it for a test drive. It was not me who took it to the shop. I think I'm just being paranoid. Thx for the help.
