Civic parts to del Sol, newbie

ok new here. my gf is picking up a 93 del sol si with 73k miles for $3900 today. i searched for answers to my questions, but they were partially answered.

About 2 years ago i was building a show civic so i went with an air ride kit for the suspension. well i lost interest in that project after getting an s2000, and have been trying to sell the civic. My gfs pink integra got stolen recently, so she is looking at this del sol. Will the civic suspension work on it? I read that most hatch parts are swapable, but my civic was a 4 door. how about the civic's big brake kit? lower rear tie bar?

heres a pic of her last car before itwas stolen with new 19's (ERRRGH)(RIP)

Re: Civic parts to del Sol, newbie

Well yea you can put a civic front on a sol but its not just a bolt on..You have to change radiator support on it put hood bumper fenders on..The main thing is the radiator support find one cut the one off the sol and weld the one to the civic on the sol..I was about to buy a sol the had 98 civic front on it but the boy sold it on me i think they look good..good luck.

Re: Civic parts to del Sol, newbie

To answer the questions that were asked, pretty much all parts from a 92-95 civic are interchangeable with the sol. I know the air suspension will work, and the brake kit, etc, should work, as well as the tie bar.

But, do not, and I repeat DO NOT let her go to 19s on a sol... the sol can't hold them at all. 18s rub like hell, and 17s still scrape. Unless you are going to re-do your fender wells, 19s are WAY too big. Even on show cars, the biggest you usually see are 17s, rarely 18s. Just wanted to toss that in there. Good luck with the little bugger.
