knocking and shavings
I have a chevy corsica 1994 with v6 3.1. There is a nice knocking sound that isn't constant at idle but with revving it gets louder and fairly constant. We took the valve covers off and found metal shavings in the oil on only one side of the v. We are thinking (could be wrong) that there is a problem with the little push rods or rocker arms on that side. Is there a way to check this?

Re: knocking and shavings
Sure take them off and check for wear, nut real knock is usually from the lower end, valve trains click.
