Robertson Racing Ford GT

After watching the 2011 24HRS of Le Mans I was very impressed with the privateer team of David and Andrea Robertson. After less then 4yrs in the ALMS the Robertson's were invited to run the 24HRS and with the help of pro driver David Murray not only did they finish, they finished on the podium.

Since then I've been wanting to build their car, so here we go....

Starting the project with this..

So far I've just started the initial body work, but so far I am pretty happy with how it's starting to look

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, my camera is on vacation with my mom and I'm trying to figure out how to take some decent pics with my new Blackberry.

This is gonna be a slow build. I've got some new wheels and tires coming in as well as some HD brake sets and some photo etch flush body clips and likely won't see them for a month. Also at this time there isn't anyone who makes a decal set for this car. The guy at Patto's Place does an older version from the ALMS season but not for the 2011 Le Mans car.

Thanks for looking and any comments or criticisms welcome and appreciated.

That you can. It's a simple and decent kit. Has an engine, but the "hood" is molded closed.

haha, the Blackberry was free, I'm not a big cellphone user. My buddy got a new iphone and gave me the Berry to play around with.

Are you sure about the Belkits GT? I looked at their site and didn't see anything about it. Simil'r has a GT kit but its the GT1 car, much bigger and wider then the GT3 version.

And as stated above, the Johnny Lightning kit is a single molded 1 piece body. The interior detail is decent and it does have an engine tho I think it seems abit small for 1/25 scale compared to the 1/24 engine in the Simil'r GT1 kit. The only really bad part of the JL kit is the fog lamp glass for the lower lights I pretty thick and the tire sidewalls are too tall and thick looking, just like all the Revel tires of late.
