ford fiesta 1.25 zetec
I am having trouble with my fuel consumption. I travel the same distance every week and my mpg varies between 30 to 55 mpg . Can anybody tell me what can cause this. I'm puzzled.

Re: ford fiesta 1.25 zetec
Have you calculated the fuel economy based on odometer mileage and full tank of fuel (ideally using the same pump), or are you basing it on the trip computer?
Several folks have claimed the trip computer is quite inaccurate, although every time I've calculated my economy to compare against the trip computer it's been within a couple of tenths of a mpg. -Rod |

Re: ford fiesta 1.25 zetec
But did you calculate your fuel economy based off the distance you drove and the number of gallons used (as determined by how much it tool to fill the tank)? I'm suggesting that, if you're relying currently on the trip computer calculations, you first verify that the trip computer is reporting accurately.
