Ignition Plugs and Wires
I've decided to replace my Iridium plugs with the OEM double platinum. Would it be prudent to replace the ignition wires also. The existing ignition wire set was installed about two years ago and has about 30K miles in it.

Re: Ignition Plugs and Wires
Today's wires are made to last 100,000 miles or 5 years, which ever you get to first is the recommendations. Their biggest detractor is engine heat and age, making the rubber brittle. But I have two vehicles that are over 10 years old and over 200,000 miles that have had new plugs but never got around to changing the wires. And others I've changed the wires around every 60,000 miles or 3 years. No wire problems with any of them. Did the ones sooner because they were high performance engines and I wanted to be sure they ran great and looked good.
