Honda Axo Gresini 2000

Hi guys,

This is my second attempt on making the Honda NSR 250 after making the Movistar Team 2001 version.

The set I used to make this sticker set is Studio 27, size seems right but the only part that is oversize is the front fender which is a little too long otherwise it'll be just right.

The colour that I used for the white part, firstly is TS-26 (Pure white) then TS-45 (Pearl white). As for the blue part, I used TS-50 (Mica blue). I primed the surface first before painting the paints mentioned above.

The photos below :

As much as I've tried to make a nice one, but I think that is what I could do. As I was putting on the decal, I keep on accidentally 'crash' the bike that caused some problem on the swing arm as the absorber couldn't hold onto it. After trying to put the main fairing properly back as it went loose, I accidentally ripped the axo & honda wordings on the left slide of the fairing but luckilly it wasn't badly damaged but still the damage is there.

I thought of trying to make it look as nice as possible to mark his 10th anniversary since his passing. This is one talent gone too soon.

Since I started following MotoGP, his name came to my attention on his demise when I was playing MotoGP video game on PS2. That time, I tried to look up about him and even tried to find out the cause of his death.

Suggestions are welcome & thanks for viewing.

ben_gsr2s : Thanks for the comment.

Tamiya in terms of detailing not as much compare to Hasegawa as Hasegawa adds little more detail especially the wirings. Transparent cable besides the normal black cable are also provided which you have to paint depending on the wire you are going to place. Plastic parts by Tamiya is better than Hasegawa's version. Hasegawa unfortunately does not provide the masking tape for Tamiya if it involves 2 colour schemes in one part like Scot Racing Team 2007 & 2009 which means we might have to put a little more work when comes to masking. But overall, if given more time, I believe Hasegawa can come up with good quality bikes.

Re: Honda Axo Gresini 2000

any fitment issue?
fitment that require 'expert' skill modeller to rectify? as in older fujimi and revell kit..

i have a 1/12 hasegawa Dovi's rsw250 but i still haven't start.
Currently i'm on 1/12 Aoshima 1988 NSR250.. which i think in my opinion is a bit disappointing because:
- thick decal (require a lot of decal softner)
- so-so quality on plastic
- windscreen and fairing together as 1 piece

i have a soft spot for nsr250.. i did own one back then.. what a great bike

Re: Honda Axo Gresini 2000

Hi guys,

sorry for the late reply as I haven't come to this thread for more than a week.

miguel s : Gracias, amigo. I'll do what I can to improve my build in other bikes in future.

ben_gsr2s : Well, the only gripe I had that time when I made this bike is the rear part of the bike when you attach the swing arm to the frame. The thing is (maybe it might be me but I'm not sure about the others) the swing arm doesn't seem to stick properly unlike the Tamiya counterpart. Though you might have screwed the part but somehow it can come off if not careful. Also at the absorber, we have to be careful with it as it can come off easily (might be me as well). The other part we might need to have patience is the lower fairing as it's not easy to attach the lower fairing to the main fairing as it can come off or not properly attached. Only if the NSR250 can be like the RS250RW counterpart as the absorber is easier to attach without much concern of coming off along with attaching the swing arm to the frame. Gotta say that building this bike requires lots of patience to make it.
