Formula one car body panels
I'm an engineering student and been working on the production of a formula one car.
The roll cage of the car is all but completed, and so now, i m looking forward to the body covers or panels. Could anyone be of any help in this regard as to what materials should i consider, with the balance of cost and quality, and what designs should i look forward to ? Thanks! |

I think Stratos means what scale is your car? In your message it sounds as if you are talking about a real full-size 1/1 car, in which case I'd suggest GRP or aluminium sheet. If you're building a scale model, then the scale makes a lot of difference. Roy. |

Just wondering then....
How can a model car forum help, unless you want to build your car from plasticard and cover it in B.M.F.??? (LOL)... Roy. |

Re: Formula one car body panels
try the formula SAE forums, you'll find a lot of information there
if you're trying to make a full 1:1 scale 'working' car, then replica & car builder forums would be of best help IMHO, as large size molds for CF formation is different technique all together (and a lot more work, trust me!) |
