1.6 V6 instead of 2.4 V8

I've read an article about the new regulations in F1, concerning the year 2014.

It says they will be obliged to use 1.6 V6 engines instead of 2.4 V8 engines.
I thought the 2.4 was a very small engine, but it seems to get a lot 'worse'.

What are your opinions about it?
