1962 Corvette Roadster

Got this baby done at Christmas eve. It's the newly tooled Revell '62 Vette. Color is Valspar automotive paint Rally Red and Testor's Wet Look clear. Used the Model Car Garage photo-etch detail set and Alcladed the bumpers. Also used different tires rather than the ones in the kit.

Re: 1962 Corvette Roadster

Sorry guys, the first 4 pictures were taken outside under natural light, that's why they look much better than the rest of them and also show the true color of the car.

That looks beautiful!,i have 2 of theses kits but i can't decide on a color i want to stay away from red, thinking Honduras maroon or sateen silver,i belong to another forum where they made a big issue over the seam running across the front end, glad to see it didn't stop you.

Thank you guys. They made a big issue with the seam because it was close the letters and it was difficult to get rid of it without messing them up by sanding them down. I dismissed that possibility by replacing the letters with P/E ones.

Re: 1962 Corvette Roadster

This forum has some really talented builders and you are certainly one of them, the first picture looks so darn real I had to actually look it over several times before I realized it was a model. Looks like another cover shot for the mag again! What tires did you use?

Re: 1962 Corvette Roadster

I used the new AMT custom and competition, Firestone Deluxe Champion tires. This new pack has 4 different style tires to chose from. I hated the fact that I only had the white decal option for the tires in the kit, these AMT ones were a life saver!

Re: 1962 Corvette Roadster

Cruz, what do you use for washes on the engine? Whatever you are using it's working very good.
