tamiya 911 gt1

i have decided to build the 911 gt1 as my first wip here in AF. comments and suggestions are welcome! so...
i started with the dash first. i made an insert to represent the dash board with the digital speedo. this is my first try at it, and considering that it doesnt fit very well, i might redo it. i plan to recess the speedo deeper and i might go as far as rebuilding the whole speedo. the steering column plate i just copied from a pic i saw of a 996. coz i saw that detail and it looked cool to me. i will also detail the 2-way radio? not sure if it is a radio. plus the usual knobs and switches are on the to-do list

i also started with the seat and its upholstery retaining bits(dont know what its called) for now they"re just tacked on with blu-tac. once i'm happy with the positioning i'll drill thru the seat, then cover the back of the seat with kevlar twill.

next up, i drilled out the "tubes" on that thing on the left. again i dont know what its called. i saw ref pics and it should be hollow with bolts that connect it to the rear of the gearbox. i have some scale hardware bolts that will take care of that detail. i also added some attachment points to the gearbox part on the right. btw, the gearbox, according to ref pics, should be 1 piece. i have to address that.
the other thing i really want to redo on the gearbox is those round plates where the driveshafts come out off. in the kit, they're not accurate. i'm still looking through the parts box for replacements.

thats it for now. 'til next update then.
