Ferrari 599 GTO 2010 - 1/24 Revell

Hello, again from Greece.
This is my latest project. The well-known Revell's, 599 GTO.

I started with the body. I follow the standard procedure (scribing panel lines, drilling the indicators, sanding the whole body, thinning the air vents, open the door's handle, etc.) and in addition, I separate the side window trim, with the scriber for a more "authentic" look.

The paint progress follows. My first choice is the ZP's tdf blue, but I didn't have enough after my 330 GTC.
So my inspiration point came from this :

and this '62, 250 GTO (SN3387) :

So, I paint it with the TS50 (!!! - I try to have a little different result than the normal ts50), and clearcoated with Gunze's 513. All decan from spray cans to airbrush.

I spray another wet coat of clear cause I have some orange peel (as you see in previous photos) but I didn't take photographs yet.
Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for your time.

Best regards
George

Color looks great! Can't wait to see more. Are those Hobby Design decals?

Thank you for your support. I plan to finish until the end of February, so more coming (hope) soon.
Yes, I use Hobby Design stripes and circles.

Re: Ferrari 599 GTO 2010 - 1/24 Revell

Thank you Andy...
Here the next update with some interior preparations.
Ι open the doors cases and I put the mesh for sound system.

I choose a more sport look for my GTO (I 'll try a retro-sport mix look) so I decide to put the four point seat belts. So I opened four seat bely connectors an I put an oval frame on it (cut from pe set belts).

From plastic rods, I made a roll bar.

In the central console, I scribing the upper part to separate it, from the tunnel.

For next, I opened the air vents to put the HD's pe vents.

In a temporary assembly, I discover that the holes in the top off the dashboard, is not totally covered, so I put some putty on them.

The final step for today is the steering column.

Hope you like my job and thanks for your time.
I wait your comments.
Best regards
George

Re: Ferrari 599 GTO 2010 - 1/24 Revell

I manage to do some work on my GTO, so I finished the interior.
The inspiration for the interior colors, come from the original '62 GTO. As I wrote before, I try to mix the new with the classic to make a vintage result.

So I choose back leather, white aluminium for panels and some suet details.

For the suet details I put some microballons in my old airbrush to represent them. I didn't choose some texture spreys, because I want a very fine effect.

In the dashboard, I remove all the controls and I represent them from plastics rods. Also, I put some pe rings on the decals for more realistic view. The black, that I used is the valejo black primer a great way to represent leathers.

Then, I make some wash and dry-brushing to interior parts, I add flocking and detailed the interior with pe from Hobby design's set.

The seats is a complicated situation. The central part represent by spraying tire black over a mesh (I use am acrylic matt black as base-coat). Also, I add the necessary cf to the back of them.

And the result...

Hope you like the progress.
Comments are very welcome

Best regards
George

also I love that combo color. It is much more nicer than the ordinary red/black for this car.

really nice George, love to see this build.
