BMW 535i (F10) with Alpina style wheels

Alright folks, another (re-)build finished.

None of the plastic kit manufacturers brings new BMW models, so I have to utilize other sources. Before anyone bashes the material used:
You know that I'd prefer plastic - but matter of subject dictates alternative routes sometimes.

This BMW was actually build for my neighbor, who owns one in the same color and thinks about buying a set of Alpina wheels.
I used Dark Flat Tan paint to make the interior look like tan leather. Outside, I swapped all the flashy chrome trim for ShadowLine parts.
I also detailed the head- and taillights. The part between the exhaust pipes was painted flat black. PE brakes and calipers are from the (OOP) ScaleProduction GT-R35 Seibon transkit.

The "Alpina look" wheels used are from Aoshima. Sorry, but I can't remember the name/number.

Oh, and here are a few pictures how it looked like before the transformation.

Find more pictures here.

Kind regards
Sebastian

Re: BMW 535i (F10) with Alpina style wheels

Super BMW ! Welly done good work with this 5-series.
At second pictuer it looks like the real one car standing in garage, ready to go.
Also Welly's 3-series sedan (E90) is quite good.
Recently I bought 1:24 3-touring (E91) BBurago, but I'm not so happy.
Of course it is not so bad, but Welly is much better.

Your Alpina style 5-series is really good looking model. I'm going to buy the same.
I plan to use Alpina wheels from Revell's BMW Z8 Alpina.

Greatings
MichaeL

completely agree. lack of subjects force to skip to die cast (or anything else) in 1/24scale.

U made, as usual, a great model I like

Just I wellknow, if u could only have the bare naked kit of this die cast, u will improve it a lot more , mostly looking at the opening part gaps typical of those models.

Scary good quality for 15 euros btw..

Sebastian anyone who bashes this kit is insane. You have done an awesome job. it's not your fault that there are no real plastic kits on this subject available. Thumbs up man!

Is the 535i the OP modified 18th or 24th scale?

Chris Bangle is a genius. He put BMW back on a map after several decades of boring, same sausage - different length type design. Now the brand is bold, innovative, and beautiful again (with few exceptions, F10 is one of them btw).
