Blaupunkt Sachs Porsche 962 - Tamiya 1/24

Hello all
Thought I would show you the second of a couple of 962s that I was building more or less in parallel. The other was a resin bodied transkit - this one is the Tamiya 1/24 scale edition which I believe started life as an RC model so features the moulded-in glazing and body securing pins. It's pretty much OOB with just some belts courtesy of ST27, headlights by Little Lenses and a bit of wire into the Bosch ECU. While inside I drilled out the holes in the central member running down the middle of the cockpit.
The exhaust and turbo blow-off port is relief moulded onto the body side so I opened up the hole and mounted a couple of bits of tube on a block of sprue inside the body. Oh, and I replaced the moulded-on front towing loop with a piece of wire.
Paint is the old faithful Tamiya rattle can with Zero pre-mixed lacquer and a little polish, with Alclad for the wheel rims.
Great fun to do and I just love the blue/white livery!

Anyway, here she is, please enjoy.
As ever, all comments and critique is welcomed.

That pic just reminded me that I removed the triangular wing supports and replaced with sprue - this car seems to have had un-faired supports. Much mould seam removal needed around the rear wing.

Sorry if a bit pic heavy - I just think the 962 is such a good looking race car, from any angle - hope you agree!

cheers
Rick

Re: Balupunkt Sachs Porsche 962

Very nice build. You are correct about the mold seams around the wing. They are some of the worst I have experienced on a Tamiya kit.
