Toyota Hilux 4x4 Trail Truck/Prerunner
I had originally built this back in 2007 as box stock.
![]() Well I robbed the tires and wheels from it years ago to put on my Jeep buggy. It has sat in a box until now. I pulled it out and decided to make it into a trail truck. First thing to go was the bed. ![]() I wanted to be able to remove the bed sides or put them when displaying the model so I designed the cage around that idea. This isn't going to be as detailed as some of the builds here but it will suit my needs. ![]() ![]() The sides still fit so I am doing something right. ![]() ![]() Here the cage is about 75% complete. I need to make the shock mounts and figure out where I want to mount a fuel cell. ![]() ![]() I've also got the rear axle finished up. It will be a 3-link set up. I would use the kits leaf springs but I lost one of them. ![]() This should be a quick build. Who knows, I might go crazy on it though. |

Re: Toyota Hilux 4x4 Trail Truck/Prerunner
got some more done on this the last few nights.
Added some more to the cage ![]() ![]() I built a fuel cell and added shock mounts to the cage before I painted it. I might add a spare tire mount and a place for some fuel cans. I have not decided yet. ![]() Here are the shocks and the rear axle mounted. I still need to make the 3rd link to finish up the suspension. ![]() ![]() |
