2000 tauras wont start
For some reason, when i try to start, nothing happens. The battery is new and checks good. The starter wont even try to crankThe terminals are clean and tight.Only some relays respond when turning the key.Can this be a bad cable?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2000 tauras wont start
Sounds like your starter motor assembly may be bad. But first, you could try shifting to neutral and see if the starter motor will start the engine then. If the Park/Neutral safety switch is bad or out of alignment, it may be disabling the starter circuit.
If shifting to neutral doesn't work, then you probably have an issue with the starter. If you are comfortable with a test light or multimeter, you can check to make sure voltage is getting to the starter solenoid when someone holds the key in the Start position. -Rod |

Re: 2000 tauras wont start
I have tried it in nuetral,no difference.I was goin to check voltage at solenoid, but car sits so low to the ground.lol I will try to get it in over my grease pit by pushing it,once i get help.I also tried to jump from ground on battery to ground on motor with jumper cable thinking maybe the ground cable was bad.
thanks for the reply |
