I have drove this car all day yesterday with no problems, four hours later, it was about to rain so i was gonna park it in the shop, when i went to start it up. The engine would try to start. The belt and chains everything was turning but just wont fire. Any suggestions? Also, i did a carMD check and it all came in clear. So idk what to do.

Re: My 2000 Pontiac firebird will not start.
Which engine?
Basically check fuel pressure with a gage, spark on all cylinders w/spark tester, injector pulse on all cylinders, and if necessary, compression.... |

Re: My 2000 Pontiac firebird will not start.
I got it to fire up for a split second then die today. I'm guessing it's the fuel pump. I'm having a wrecker come get it today and find out whats wrong with it. It has to be the fuel pump because it did fire up but die immediately like the fuel pump is bad.

Re: My 2000 Pontiac firebird will not start.
hit the bottom of the fuel tank with a mallet or hammer while someone cranks it. that sometimes temporarily will jar the pump and get you going. also with a trans funnel in the gas fill put your ear in there and see the pump hums while someone cranks it...
