I think Lemoncheck.com or something might give a free viewing of where the car has been. It probably won't get into detail unless you pay 14.95 or some lame ass fee

I used carfax when I bought my car awhile ago. It was mostly accurte. I can't fault them for what they didnt catch, cuz it wasn't on DMV records. A previous onwer had gotten the car hit or something, cuz when I got a CLUE report (an insurance thing) it not only had my personal claims history (in respoect to car insurance cliams) but it had the cars insurance claims as well. Again, the Vin was the key there. It shoulded 2 claims, one comp I think, but one was like a $3500 collison check. and it never got reported to DMV, so carfax didnt show it. The ppl invovled musta kept it on the down low or something. So just so yu know, carfax is pretty accurate, but there is always a possibity of something like that slippin though. After a VIN check, have someone check the car over, a pre-purchase inspection. That should catch any problems like that.
