VW T1 Delivery Van 'LeMorris' Custom

Let me introduce you my new project.

On a dutch forum we started a groupbuild with the theme: From paper to plastic.

So we have to search a cool artwork from the internet and make a scalemodel in plastic.

I wanted to build a VW van again. So I picked this Hasegawa VW t1 Delivery Van.

The inspiration pic is from LE Morris. A cool 3d art designer which also likes VW's as I do.



The kit is very simple but it's the best there is.









I'll use some Pegasus Chrome T's for the wheels. The tyres are replaced with Revell Tuner series tyres.





The colors on the picture are pearl white and pearl orange I think. So I had to look in my paintcollection for the right colors.



As you can see on the artwork the VW logo is cleaned. So I'll start with that very soon!

The body is sanded, the panellines are scribed out, so it was time for some paint.

First I sprayed the grey primer, followed by the Pearl White.

After this I masked off the pearl white area, so I can paint the Pearl Orange.

New update:

I made new licenseplates:



The dashboard got some decals and a clearcoat:



The body was polished and waxed. I also glued the lights in place. To replicate the safari windows, I had to made some new ones out of plastic sheet. I also made some hinges, and I cutted the sidewindows from the original windowpart.









The new windows needed a pearl white trim, the body got some black rubber seals. Now I could glue the windows in the right position and I made some hinges from a steelwire.







The chassis is also lowered and ready for paint:





It's time to start on the interior and add some paint on the chassis.

I painted the steeringwheel gloss white and I added the Wolfsburg logo followed by a drup of clearcoat.



I first painted the seat white, but it was too boring. So I added some cowskin decals from ScaleMotorsport on it.

Another perfect work !! I love it
My only suggestion would be a very fine black line to seperate both color, but it's not my model !
I also like the cow look seat, very funny and original.
