New Ignition control switch and key cylinder and still won't crank

Had been having problems with ignition on my 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Key was loose and eventually wouldn't stay in "on" position without being jerry-rigged (don't ask). Replaced the Ignition Control Switch and the Key cylinder today and car won't start. Checked fuses and they look fine.

Used this video as a guide and it installed perfectly.

Any ideas?????

First thing to do would be to re-check all connections that you worked on.

If you disconnected the battery for the job, check those connections as well. If you didn't, then check the charge on your battery.

Re: New Ignition control switch and key cylinder and still won't crank

Turns out it was a bad key cylinder and had to get a new one.

Lately we have bought a bad key cylinder, rotor cap, and ignition coil. All have been replaced and are working properly now, but car still is cutting off and not restarting. Everything I have read here says crankshaft position sensor. Already replaced that. Could I have a fourth part that is bad? Most of these came from different stores (Advanced, Carquest and Autozone).

My distributor doesn't have a Camshaft sensor aka stator, which I also read may be the problem.

Any thoughts??

Check for odb1 codes.

Yes check for codes. Also, there have been numerous posts of new CPS being bad out of the box.
