Coolant issue, white smoke?
I drive a '03 Lincoln Continental, this morning I arrived at work and white smoke was rushing out from under my hood.
I heard no noises, my temp gauge was reporting normal, my Check Engine light didnt sound off, my coolant was topped up only a few days ago, my oils fine, I had my radiator repaired/replaced by Ford officials about 2.5 months ago, and I had replaced my dead Alternator about a month ago. So aside form a flat tire the other day (been driving with a donut tire, being as conservative as i can about that until pay day when i can get a new tire) the cars been running fantastically. In fact, I would go so far as to say, even with this smoke the car would run perfectly normal. Theres no leaks that I am aware of, etc. THIS SAID, as i popped the hood to my car, white smoke escaped en-mass and i saw coolant had sprayed everywhere. Looked pretty fresh but must have happened while I was driving. I live only a couple kilometers away from work, so the car wasn't terribly stressed or anything, the AC wasn't even on. Anyone know what happened? And if possible, how much it may cost to get repaired?

Re: Coolant issue, white smoke?
Will need to pressure test system to locate leak before an accurate estimate can be made. Could be as simple as a hose leaking.

Re: Coolant issue, white smoke?
You can sometimes rent the tools from a parts store, like autozone and the like. It's pretty simple to use, they will probably even show you how. It just pressurizes the system and you look and listen for leaks. As bad as yours sounds, it should be pretty easy to find. YOU CAN DO IT!
