rear Suspension.

I`ve got a 2000 1500 extended cab 4x4 .5.3. Can I swap the rear springs for springs from a 2500 hd? I`ve got a broken spring on each side and hope to be able to beef it up with heavier used springs from a bone yard. The truck does not do much heavy hauling but I do move my 5th wheel a couple of times a year . Being a 2000 and only putting 5k on truck per year I don`t really want to drop alot of coin into it.

with the leaf springs broken the shocks must be shot. go to this supplier for some quality springs/parts.

working the leaf springs is a nasty job when trying to salvage .

I am cheap, but going to a scap yard and using worn out parts in this area is not worth the effort.

Re: rear Suspension.

Yes you can, I did the same thing. My original leaf springs were sagging because I load my truck too heavy many times, got leaf springs off a '98 2500 and been happy with it. I just put a ad on Craigslist asking for the springs and got a set for $50.
