Silverstone Classic 2014 - July 25th-27th - GTR's in attendance

I've just been made aware of the fact there may be some GTR's at this years Silverstone Classic

There were some pictures taken of #24R at the Media Day and I am sure more will pop up somewhere online soon.

pics courtesy of silverstoneclassic and lukewigley off IG

I'm pleased I bought my tickets hoping to get to see #020 in the drivers area but seeing others, #24R and hopefully #06R (?) and #05R (?) like what was at Paul Ricard a little while ago will make the day for me and Thomas even more special

Re: Silverstone Classic 2014 - July 25th-27th - GTR's in attendance

Hi Greg,

Hope you are well.

I was supposed to head to Silverstone for the Media Day but got mountains of work on in my day job so could not make it

Here is an extract from the press release: -

"
90s GT Legends
Evocative GT cars from the 1990s will be making their first appearance at the Silverstone Classic with an all-new grid planned for this year’s event. More than 40 blockbuster machines are expected from an era that included the McLaren F1, Lister Storm, Porsche 911 GT1, Chrysler Vipers and many more. These stupendous cars will be in action both on all three days, giving fans plenty of opportunity to see them at flat out speeds. "

Looking forward to this event, Silverstone Classic is one of my favourites.

Speak soon.

Regards

Tim

I'm going on the Saturday, the 'quieter' day will be the Friday [just like at Goodwood's FoS]. If you're combining it with a trip to London why not fly in Friday evening, spend Saturday at Silverstone, go back to London for the evening car spotting, stay overnight in a nice hotel and fly back on the Sunday

OK seems to be very interesting again there in Silverstone. Any onboard videos are more than welcome, any good images of these GTR's are more than welcome. Even I have no time to draw this moment really; I defenitely need good images!!!!

Yes, the number of GTR,s in the demo run is very impressive, I was informed yesterday by a very reliable source a total of nine so far, that does not include any road F1,s. that may turn up.

Nine!?

I'd imagine #19R and #24R?

Which are the rest? At a guess...#02R, #03R, #05R, #06R? #013R...whichever FINA one the Glasels owned/own (#21R?)...

No idea about potential others.

Would be epic not speaking of the possibility of roadcars present...

The official SC website has 5 GTR,s listed, this has been confirmed to me, you can scratch 05R from your list, also the 2 Rofgo collection GTR,s will not be there. There is a possibility that McLaren may attend the event, not sure in which content though, maybe Henry can help us in that area .

You can add 3 longtails to your list above (I.m not a liberty to say which ones though )
