01 intrigue dash,gas gauge issues

I just bought a 01 Intrigue that the dash lights don't work and the gas gauge stays at fuel when you start the car. It goes to empty when you shut it off.

gas gauge might be fuel sending unit. Give these two links a shot and see if it matches up with your symptoms:

not sure on the other dash lights issue. Maybe someone else has an idea.

Re: 01 intrigue dash, gas gauge issues

The gas gauge symptoms ( always full when switch is on and empty when switch is off ) indicate a break in the circuit feeding the gauge . Could be a wiring issue or something to do with the sender .

Re: 01 intrigue dash, gas gauge issues

Thanks for the help I figured the dash lights out all five bulbs were blown. Going to try to replace part in fuel sending unit. I hope that fixes it. I dont have any reading on the odometer but it Im not worried about that unless someone has a easy fix.

Re: 01 intrigue dash, gas gauge issues

Thanks for the help I actually got a deal on a new sending unit and pump. Replaced them both and now the gauge works fine. I had no idea where to even start to look without some help.
