Re: Ferrari 599 GTO

Many thanx for this review.
There are still some unconvincing details, such wheels and brakes....

Thanks! At least even in the instructions they're honest about the 4x4 ride height lol.

Re: Ferrari 599 GTO

Gonna buy this soon, but not going to start it until the detail sets come out! Like that they offered different colored gauges.

Re: Ferrari 599 GTO

Thanks for sharing the pics, now do us all a favour & throw the civic at the wall (or back in the box..) & get started asap on this bad boy! Would love to see how it builds!
Still think the way they do Wheels is the stupidest most complex way possible. Dispointed the brakes are 1 piece with the heatshield but being plastic it would need to be. I think Ive already seen the Hobby Design PE set that completely re-makes the brakes.
Love the box art pic, thats damn sexy!

Re: Ferrari 599 GTO

Since the civic is finished (Pic's will follow) I have a verry small update on this beast
Put the wheels in de tires just to see how bad it was

Gleud the biggest parts of the engine together

Also did the rear drivetrain

And drilled some holes in the brakes

Re: Ferrari 599 GTO

I feel like the wheels aren't big enough, the tires have too much sidewall, and the spokes on the wheels are too thick.

Re: Ferrari 599 GTO

Why is it so dificult for Revell to provide nice & decent wheels & tires set? Absolutely none of their kits have respectable ones....
At the same time that they earn points for launching nice subjects, they loose for such stupid mistakes...

Re: Ferrari 599 GTO

Agreed. My hope would be that FG Models produces wheels for this kit, but what has happened to FG Models lately? Their website doesn't work, and it doesn't seem like they are producing any new items. Sorry to get off topic!

Re: Ferrari 599 GTO

Dear revell,
please, for xmas, fire the technician u have somewhere in Germany projecting the wheels, tyre and setup for your nice and so interesting models. All the modelling world wants him to find a nice new job.
U pay a lot of euros in big royalty to Maranello fellows, so lets help us saving some other money before buy resin wheels done somewhere in Asia.

Thank u dear revell.
