how many have done the shift kit for the 1811 hard shift code ??

I have a 2000 Lesabre and it had 25k on it when I bought it..started the hard shifts, code 1811, chgd the valve body and epc and it was fine for about 20k miles then started again, about every 30 days now it shows up.
Thinking of a shift kit,whacha think ?
Which kit is the best with the best directions and parts ?
where to buy ?

cvc, I have a Bonneville, but it's the same 4T65E Trans. I had 4th gear go out(common problem). I bought my parts from Dave Norris at Triple Edge Performance in Ft. Wayne IN. (Good website plus he specializes in that trans) He suggested the Trans-go shift kit. The 2nd and 3rd accumulators are easily accessed from the pan. The 4th accumulator is behind the channel plate directly behind the valve body. Since I was going that deep into the trans, he told me it would be best to install it then. The shift kit also includes a couple of valve upgrades for the valve body. The instructions are pretty easy to deal with. It's a lot of work dropping the left side to get the side cover off, but you might ask Dave how much of a difference not changing the 4th accumulator makes. Also, the 4th clutch hub and shaft assembly is notorious for the splines stripping on 97-03 models. They sell an aftermarket shaft that has hardened splines. You may want to consider changing that, too. If you can change a valve body, it's not much more work. I did mine in about 9 hours. He's a pretty nice guy and very knowledgable on that trans. Overall though, the trans is shifting great.

'01 Impala, Trans-Go kit, replaced 2 & 3 only with a fluid change and filter. No more DTCs, but it's only been about 9 months and 12,000 miles.
