HELP! Bravada won't start after replacing intake gasket!

Help!! 2000 olds bravada. It ran fine before replacing the intake gasket. Timing was off but we fixed it, so Timing is right (at least we think. ...put it on compression stroke, TDC, then distributor lined up with the #6) thats the way the book said it should be. Afte putting it in time, it started, but had real thick white smoke that smelt like gas and eventually stalled. It won't start now unless I spary starter fluid in the intake then it runs breifly (2 sec). When we don't put starter fluid in it, it just backfires out of the intake. We replaced distributor cap and plugs. What do you suggest is wrong with it. It has spark.

You might recheck the other plug wiring.

It was likely taken to a shop and no update given.
Are you having a problem with your Bravada?

I was but figured it out. Replaced the O rings on the fuel line and also had to replace the regulator. Runs like a champ now.
