whatsup with my brakes? im stumped

so three weeks ago...breaks start chirping. not grinding...im aware of the difference. so i figure, needs new pads.

get it inspected, dude says ive still got liek half my pads left.

but im still hearing that chirp when i break...like the warning on the pads.

its not a grind, like when ur rotors are shot. if i dont need new pads.....then wtf?

what gives?

Try hosing off the brake dust with a water hose. If that works, go get brake pad silencer at the auto parts store. It's a thick gunk that you put on the back of the brake pads to keep them from making high frequency vibration noise.

Re: whatsup with my brakes? im stumped

We've had this problem come into my work before. Sometimes when the wheels get put back on, the person lets the wheel hit too hard on the metal backing that covers the back of the caliper and/or rotor. It need only be pushed back toward the strut/shock so it's not rubbing on the rotor.
