Problem with Instrument Panel Guages

My 1988 TBird Turbo Coupe has developed a problem upon starting up, the instrument gauges do not work, nor do the power brakes. When this problem first occurred, after running for several minutes, the gauges and power brakes would begin to work, now they are now working at all. I also noticed that when you shut the car off and then turn the key a little before startup, the guages will work until the car starts.Any opinion as to what the problem may be would be appreciated.

Re: Problem with Instrument Panel Guages

Welcome to the forum Robert. If you can get the guages to work by moving the key then it sounds like the ignition switch is worn out. Do none of the guages work? The power brakes work by vacuum applied to the power brake booster. Check the hose going to the booster to see if you have a vacuum leak.
