Re: 95 Chevy 20 Series Van, 5.7L solenoid info
Fusible link was pinched and subsequently fried when some work was done on motor. Owner wanted an inline fuse instead of the fusible link. Was looking at the amperage under starting load. Manufacturer states that it is 1.6 Kw which converts to 83.33 amps on 12v system (according to conversion site) <just got manufacturer of solenoid/starter info recently>

Re: 95 Chevy 20 Series Van, 5.7L solenoid info
You are welcome.
Sounds like you got the wiring figured out. For inforation purpuse only. On the starter solenoid wiring I do not see any fusable links . Solenoid wiring is straight wired from ign switch. Fusable link is between battery junction block and ign switch. You would need around a 100 amp fuse. Or Big enought to carry all of the electrical load of truck. But best to stay with the fusable link the same gauge as was on it. Cheaper to replace and safer. Only a shorted circuit will blow it Never did have a call or reason to check the solenoid amp draw. If you want to test it hook up a starter to battery with a amp gauge. Un hook starter field wire and trip on solenoid. I would vote for 10 to 20 amp draw on solenoid.
