Help with 4 codes

I just had my 2003 Windstar LX 3.8V6 checked for a check engine light that returned 4 different codes. I found the thread with the "P" codes, but a search didn't turn up any of the others. I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what may be wrong from these.

V2477 - Module configuration malfunction

U1262 - Standard communication protocol connection bus malfunction

B1318 - Battery Voltage

P1518 - Intake manifold runner control stuck open

The battery and alternator were both replaced about 11 months ago and they tested out fine at the parts store.

Any help would be appreciated.

I will start checking fuses. Then starter. The battery code is related to low voltage. Use a simple multimeter and chechk voltage by yourself (engine on and off). If there is no change the alternator is not working properly. Did you install an aftermarket alarm or something electronic? I guess it's related to something inusual.

As suggested before check voltage at the battery, it should be 12.3-12.6 with engine off and around 14.6 while idling in park. Also you can get your battery and alternator tested at most autoparts stores.

P1518 you can search the forum for IMRC. This is a common problem when the linkages get disconnected from the actuator. Close to the alternator there is a black box with two metallic rods (the linkages), make sure both are attached at both sides, sometimes they come off and get lost on the road...

For the other two codes I would inspect the connections at the PCM. Also if the alternator is bad, it can induce electromagnetic noise to the rest of the wiring and the communications network. Have you noticed any weird noises from the radio?.

Low voltage can cause all kinds of strange problems.
I would verify the connections.....at battery and down by the starter......INCLUDING ground connections.

I haven't had a chance to look at this until today. I want to go ahead and post my initial voltage readings before I forget them, but I am going to check a few other things after this.

Voltage with engine off: 12.8v
Voltage at idle: 14.5v

Both the alternator and starter tested good at the parts store and both were replaced last summer.

As for the P1518, I found both linkages loose. One was loose on both ends. I'm going to search and see if I can find some more info on it. Would that have anything to do with the low voltage code?

Indeed, those links need to be very well adjusted. If they aren't well connected one side can get too hot and create electrical issues.

After fixing the link ends with new bushings, the electrical codes went away. The only code I have now is the P1518 still and from reading the other threads, it looks like it takes a couple of days for this one to clear. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Just wanted to follow up for anyone finding this thread in the future....

After replacing the plastic inserts where the linkage arms attach to the actuator (about 6 bucks at advance auto) I was able to reattach the linkage arms at both ends. It really wasn't too bad of a job.

it took about a week or so, but the check engine light went away and has been gone for a couple of weeks now. The runner control problem caused the other codes.
