PCM replacement for 97 JGC

I believe my PCM needs to be replaced on my 97 JGC Laredo with 4.0 ltr engine. Can anyone tell me what year jeeps will interchange with mine? Do I have to find one that came from a jeep that also had the 4.0 motor. Can I just install it and go or do I have to take it to a dealer for programmming? What else should I be concerned about when replacing my PCM? Thanks for any advice.
