5.3 Ltr Safe way to use Sea Foam

What would be the safest and best way to use Sea Foam in the intake manifold? Use PCV vaccum line or ?? They suggest to use a vaccum line but I do not see how to clean the varnish/grease build up in my intake/throttle body. There has to be a good way to clean the throttle body without pulling this thing apart. I never had any issues until they added ethanol to gas. 5.3 Vortec

what you have is carbon deposits in the throttle body. with gasoline and regular engine oil this is a problem. only removal of the air ducting and using throttle body cleaner and a tooth brush will remove this ///also remove the IAC and clean this also..

on this engine you should not have much carbon deposits in the combustion chamber ..adding some sea foam or my favorite marvel mystery oil to the gasoline at 2-3 oz / per tank full should over time clean up any deposits..this engine likes synthetic oil...best use synthetic..

Use the vacuum hose that hooks up to the brake booster. Tilt the can a slight bit so that vacuum is sipping it up. Half a bottle in there, the other half in the gas tank. Let it sit for about 15-30 minutes to do it's job in top end.

Cleaning your throttle body really good would require you to take it off...it's really simple though.

Re: 5.3 Ltr Safe way to use Sea Foam

Do I want to run the engine for a little while to warm up and with engine running pour small amount through the vacuum line shut off engine and apply half a can. The remaining I can add to the tank. Or does it matter to have engine running when pouring.
I am going to use in my tank for a few times to see if it cleans it up. I was thinking of first using some intake cleaner then follow up witht the sea foam.
