passlock

1997 chevy cavalier wont start. theft security light is on steady. I know it is probably a passlock issue. I am not getting 12v to the injectors. question..how do i know what is causing the problem ? lock cylinder w/ passlock sensor, wiring, bcm, ipc or pcm ? I have done the relearn several times with no luck. Thanks for any help

Some of the gm vehicles if the battery does not hold enough charge when you go to start them, they will turn over but wont start because the fuel pump doesnt kick in because the securty keeps it from working. That happened on a 98 s10 I had. Put new battery on and it worked fine. May have nothing to do with your problem but thougt I would let you know.

Re: passlock

I had the same issue with my wife's 98. I ended up putting a new battery in and installing a bypass module. No issues for 6 months.
