Re: Missouri takes levee battle to U.S. Supreme Court
Missouri properly prepared for such a disaster, Illinois didn't. So, the government is going to destroy Missouri's protection to help Illinois. Does this seem wrong to anyone else?
It kind of reminds you of the fable about the Grasshopper and the Ants... except in this case the government steps in and takes all the food from the ants and gives it to the grasshopper. |

Re: Missouri takes levee battle to U.S. Supreme Court
Wow, I have missed a lot in the news lately!
I can't fathom why this is even in consideration. Like you said, Missouri prepared and Illinois didn't. It's not that I want to see a city hurt by flooding (as today is the 1-year anniversary of the Nashville flood) but why hurt innocent farmers who don't make nearly enough as it is? Time to get out sandbags, IL - leave other states out of YOUR mess.
