88 Prelude Electical

Ok, i own a 88 prelude SI with a new battery and new alternator... It is having MAJOR eletrical problems... It wont keep a charge, i hit the brake and lights dim, i need help... replaced positive wire.. Still no go.. checked out other wires.. No luck, anybody got any ideas?

Have you checked the fuses???

It sounds like you may have a bad ground. Check and clean any ground connections you can.

Could still be alternator if its not stock. I had probs with alternator from local cheap ass parts stores. Replaced with stock used one from junkyard and no probs.

I'll second this on more than one occasion. Usually local part stores can test the alternator before you buy it. It doesn't cost anything to do this. You can bring them your old one as well.
