1991 honda accord will not start when cold

My Honda Accord will not start when it its cold (40 degrees or below)
The car turns over fine but it will just not start!
I have replaced the plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor button, PCV valve, and fuel filter. Anybody got any ideas or ran across the same/similar problem?

It sounds fuel related to me. Try to run some fuel injector cleaner. Will not hurt anyway.

Check the fuel pressure. Could be another problem.

Good luck,

Sam

Re: 1991 honda accord will not start when cold

I just found a thread:

This car is doing quite opposite from your problem, but still worth to look at it.

Good luck,

Sam

i agree with somick... it sounds like the relay problem the accord model tends to get especially the older models. worth checking into (just a hunch though)

this is a great place to find and check the relay if you need to. http://techauto.awardspace.com/mainrelaydefine.html#90

worth a shot.. let us know if you figure it out and good luck!

Re: 1991 honda accord will not start when cold

I took the fuel line loose that goes into the fuel rail and there was gas when i turned the swich on, so I purchased a whole new distributor from honda, put it in and the car started right up. Problem Fixed. Later on someone told me that the ignitor could be bad causing the car not to fire, so if anyone else runs acroos this problem that would be a place to start.

Ignitors are know to go bad and also the whole distributor. Your better off replacing the whole thing. You could have bought a new ignitor and installed and it still wont fire, tried a new coil and still nothing. Swap distributor and boom it runs!
