Re: 97 gp lower control arms

I've never experienced control arm problems, but most suspension problems can be identified by clunking sounds, unexpected vibrations, car out of alignment, steering not returning to the center after a turn and wobbling tires when the car is in the air.

Raise the car and look for any play on each wheel by shaking them with your hands specially at the 3 and 9, and 12 and 6 o'clock positions.

Hopefully a more experienced user will give you more specific information.

Best regards,

Oscar.

Re: 97 gp lower control arms

My bushing was so bad that my car would dart one direction when I hit a bump. Also a clunk could be heard.

Re: 97 gp lower control arms

It can also throw the steering wheel off-center if bad enough, as well as a vague/wandering feeling especially on uneven/crowned roads.
