Hasegawa Honda RSW 250cc SCOT RACING
Hi... this time i am trying to make the Hasegawa bike
Scot Racing team Honda RSW250 rode by Hiroshi Aoyama and became the 2009 World Champion. these are some photos from opening the box until the kit standing in my display box Hiroshi Aoyama in 2009 ![]() Finished results ![]() ![]() Hasegawa First edition and first release of motorcycle series ![]() at first i was just being curious to see how good this hasegawa products compared to tamiya's, then i couldn't resist from cut them off from the sprues, so here they are after sprayed primer ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() these are the moment when i couldn't hide my curiousity about how it will be looked like when they were assembled ![]() Done with the frame, so does the engines.. Now it's time to spray the fairing.. this is the challenge that i like the most !! because from 3 project i could ruin 2 of them ![]() eeerrr.. also here are some photos when the kit displayed without the fairing ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() moments : painting and applying decal has passed, now it is time to clear coat ![]() some more pics from the photo session.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() well, these photos below was taken just to make comparison: Both Honda Racing 250cc bikes and both won tittles (H.Aoyama won the 2009 250cc World GrandPrix title while Tadayuki Okada won the 1990 250cc class All Japan Championship) ![]() ![]() i am misplaced the paddock from okada's bike.. soorrryyy

Very nice looking and great job! How would you compare the Hasegawa kit quality against the Tamiya?

if we were talking about comparing these two brands, i think i'm gonna choose Hasegawa is much better remembering this is their first product related to motorcycle racing.. also hasegawa gives us a new experience in building a quite detail bike by providing clear tube, clear fairing, front fork sensor, and pretty detail molding in all parts provided. However hasegawa still has some minus like, they don't provide the masking tape like tamiya always does when we need to spray two different colour on a space. also the screw provided by hasegawa are not quite good in precision.. it's a bit short in 0,3-0,4mm lenght which will give us difficulties when assembling the frame to the swingarm, also when attaching the rear tyre to the swingarm . other than these i think hasegawa is perfect. And one thing personally i would like to add about hasegawa being better is i like their choice to release the last 250cc champion bike as their first product and hopefully they will continue in producing the moto2 bikes, and let the motoGP bikes handled by Tamiya. Anyone agree with me for this?

Re: Hasegawa Honda RSW 250cc SCOT RACING
Auditions - you did a great job on the paint - I also have this kit to build - did you find more reference pictures for this model? I'm surprised you think the Hasegawa kit is better than the Tamiya - I think that the Hasegawa has a way to go to equal the quality of a Tamiya kit. While the Hasegawa kit has little extras like the fork travel sensor the detail on the parts is not Tamiya quality and the clear body panels "fairing" is only for the first production run of the kits. Tamiya has also had clear body panels with some of their motorcycle kits. Anyway you did a good job on a model that doesn't have any detail parts available from companies like Top Studio. What did you use for the "fork sliders" - gold part? Is it gold foil? or paint? Can you email me any reference pictures you have? Thanks again and good job - John

I would love to see Hasegawa do the moto2 & 250cc bikes especially Aprilia RS250 series while Tamiya handles MotoGP. Adrian |
