AHAHAHHA I GET TO POST THE FIRST THING IN THIS THREAD EVER!!!!!!! PEOPLE WILL REMEBER ME ALWAYS!!

yeah yeah i know "it's impossible so why bother thinking about it" but hey I got nothing better to do so here's my thoughts

most people would picture a perfert world as a place were all of our desires are satisfied
desire ---------> sattisfication

but the problem is that even if our desires our satisfied in a millisecond, there is a millisecond where there is a lack of satisfication and, by defintion, a perfect world cannot have a lack
so I believe a perfect world is a worldd were there is not desire. No one needs or want to eat, sleep, fuck, buy shit, be powerfull, kill, love, hate ... etc a world were we do not lack because there is nothing to lack

Wow. That was FAST!! And there goes my fear that everyone would think I was nuts for wanting to start a forum for this and that no one would participate.

Mr Shush

That is just deep beyond belief. Surficially, I am double-taking about this. I will have to roll over it a few times to get what you are saying, but I like it. And I know you have a point.. I just have to get a better understanding of it. Thanks for posting.

Well, satisfaction is relative to disappointment. Thus, to even feel satisfied we must have disappointment in contrast. With disappointment, nothing is perfect. Thus, a perfect world is somewhat contradictory.

Perfect is a state of mind and is also subjective. What is perfect for one individual is not necessarily the same for another.

Perfect and satisfaction do not necessarily have to be synonymous. There could be a measure of satisfaction (based on current conditions), but not perfection in that state. ie.. one could be satisfied with the results, even though it were not perfect, in that persons mind.

Without measures of satisfaction, there would be no incentive for improvement. Contentment, on the other hand, is a state of mind considering current status, and does not negate the need for improvement to achieve satisfaction.

Think about it!!!

That's why we'd have to be equal in a perfect world. Equal => same desires

How could you be satisfied if you didn't travel the road to get to the end of it? Half the fun is getting there. I'd rather be given oppertunities to WORK for something than to just be given it, well, I guess it depends on the thing, like I don't feel I need to work for a bag of doritos to find them very very satisfying.

The problem is that we are individuals, means that our desires are also individual, which ends in the question whos desire is the right one. Well I don't think there's an answer for this question. Some people only want to receive things other maybe have fun in earning what they want.:bandit:

For the desire satisficing utillitarian yes, this would be a perfect world, and it suffers the problems you noted.
But it is possible to have other concepts of perfection in a perfect world.
A perfect world for a Virtous person would have everyone acting as virtous agents, while a Hedonist would only seek satisfaction of pleasure, other derisres would come second.
