92 Dakota 3.9L auto

I have a 92 Dakota and it shifts a lot going up the hills in Washington state what could be wrong or going bad with the trans?

fomoco1912, hope it's not to late to reply but many trans do this especially trans with overdrive, usually there is nothing wrong.
