arb bumper problems
A new problem, well make that the first! Last night I used my winch to help a buddy cut a tree. While placing tension on the tree. The cable slipped and the truck shook violently. This morning when leaving the house I noticed a new metallic rattle from the left front quater panel. After examining things the bumper has shifted and now the rear corner is touching the passenger side quarter panel.
Other than that I can't find any evidence of the bumper shifting. All the torques still check on the nuts and bolts. Do you think I bent the frame? What gives? Other than the bumper? |

My TJM shifts a bit and the wings flap the fender pretty often. Lately I just stand on the wing and bounce to get some clearance, but I doubt the ARB will yield to that. This will probably work for you though:
 You need to be in 4WD to do it. Just don't over-do it! Creep forward very slowly, when you feel the front end start to get pulled down, that's time to get out and check. Creep an inch or so at a time until you get the desired result. Obviously you'll have a larger gap while doing it (as shown above) than you will actually end up with since it will rise when you release the tension. Brent |

sorry for the double post, just drunk and forgot to mention that yeah we (severak buddies and I tried standing on the damn bumper with no yielding) thanks again.

Rattle
Not sure how the this would work on the ARB, but I slit a piece of rubber tubing and slid it between the bumper (TJM) and the fender.

The ARB is what shifted not your frame. Mine did the same thing after getting recovered from a bad angle (long story
 ), I looked all over the place and couldn't find anything that bent. It's like it was made that way, but it wasn't! I ended up getting a bodylift and had the ARB relocated and a new mounting system designed. It's nearly bulletproof now.
