Smile Intro to car modeling

Hi, i'm not sure were too put this thread, so here goes, i want too introduce myself here, i'm a 54 white male, my spelling and grammer is poor, so forgive me ok,that likes model cars of all kind's,my fav plastic car models are the one that look like you drive on the street , with the rust holes , dents and scracthed up paint, not a show car type, although there nice, my current build was from like 30 years ago and was champion at car show at the state fair, had on shelf , got dev, and well wife took her anger out on it, it was a repilca of the 1934 ford coupe, california kid car, wired engine ,ect, not like on here ,but was nice, now a smashed up parts car, most part's are gone, but i got the main body, minus top, and broken right rear fender most driveline still there, so its gonna be a custom job when done with it, looking for a windsor engine for it, not easy ,may have too buy a ford model pickup kit for engine , cant find any on the net, but like i said i'm new at this again, i dont even if i can do it at my age, but i'm willing too try, i learn a lot on here, my second build , unbuilt , but open box i bought at the swap meet last year , i gave her 2 bucks for all the parts and most parts , were still on the tree, is a sprint car ,with no instruction sheet ether, that outa be fun too build up, well i just wanted too say hi and thank's for letting join a great forum,as i get started in modeling again, its true i never be good as you all, but with pratice i get there, again thanks for great forum, Everett.

Re: Intro to car modeling

Never to old to start building models again! Every time I open a model, I recall the excitement and energy I used to have when I was 10-18 years old...then I started getting competitive and it has become a challenge just to build SOMETHING without habitually modifying something on it.

evrette56 - first welcome back to the joys of model building - second if you are looking for parts and have access to the internet - try eBay toys/hobbies and go to the automotive "parts" tab - there are roughly 2000 -5000 parts for sale every week and I'm sure you'll find something you're looking for at a reasonable price. Hope to see some of you builds soon - John

Welcome back to the hobby! This is a hobby that knows very few boundaries as far as demographics go, just as long as you like cars (and bikes!)
